Chiru's denial to the sequel (gossip)

In an interview to a leading film magazine, Chiru clarified his stance on Lage Raho Munnabhai remake. The movie is termed is going to become one of the biggest hits in Hindi cinema, already making a place for itself in the top-7 hits of the industry.

Chiru said, “I heard that producer Gemini Kiran bought the rights for an amount anywhere between 10 and 15 crores. If such is the price, there is no way I will do the film.” Its been the buzz in the industry, that producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra quoted a sum of 10 crores, for the remake rights for all South Indian languages.

The rights for the first film, was sold for 2.75 crores. “The movie might be a very big hit and the story really unique, but I don’t think such a huge sum should be spent for the rights alone. Imagine, the production cost will double and the brunt will be borne by the producer and buyers.

As a hero, even controlling the budget and ensuring the buyer’s safety is my responsibility.” As of now, it seems that Chiranjeevi is not interested in doing the movie. Watch this space, for any progress on this issue.
