After a string of two average fares "Bunny" & "Happy", a no-show was expected from Allu Arjun from his immediate next "Desamuduru". Critics and media questioned his acting ablities. Even the lay men said he didn't have what it takes to be a Star. In short, he was written off by everyone! But, upon being christened "STYLISH STAR" by none other than MEGASTAR Chiranjeevi, arjun went into a self-imposed hibernation for few months and then finally made his appearance only through the first posters of DESAMUDURU. Tollywood was sent into a frenzy and simply had to admit that a young boy who played a village lad in his first movie "Gangotri", had metamorphised himself into becoming the next big star of Tollywood!!
After declaring to the world just through his well-chiseled body, Bunny didn't show any signs of backing down. Even as Desamuduru hit the theatres on 12th January 2007, the movie was rubbished by both the electronic media and the general crowd. But, through sheer managerial tactics of Puri Jagan and mouth publicity, DESAMUDURU stood out as the first SUPER HIT of 2007. A perfect blend of Action, Comedy and Romantic moments, the movie has become a bench mark in Bunny's career.
